When people walk into Victoria Baths for the first time, they stop. The tiled walls, the stained glass, the light pouring in through those huge windows. It is one of those buildings that makes you look up. And then they notice the 60 stalls packed with vintage furniture, and it clicks: this is not your average fair.
A building with its own story
Victoria Baths opened in 1906 as Manchester’s first public swimming baths. It was described at the time as a “water palace” and for good reason. The Edwardian tile work, the mosaic floors, the original turnstiles and the three pool halls make it one of the most beautiful public buildings in the city. It closed as a swimming pool in 1993 and has been lovingly maintained by a trust ever since, hosting events, weddings and markets.
For a vintage furniture fair, it is hard to imagine a better setting. The building is part of the experience. Mid-century sideboards and Danish lighting look right at home against the original tile work and the warm light that comes through the coloured glass.
The practical stuff
Victoria Baths sits on Hathersage Road, just off Oxford Road at Whitworth Park. It is easy to reach from Manchester city centre by bus, and there is street parking nearby. The ground floor is accessible, and there are refreshments on site including homemade pastries and sandwiches.
The Vintage Home Show Manchester is one of our biggest events, with 60 traders filling the pool halls and adjoining rooms. Standard admission runs from 11am to 3.30pm at £4, with an early bird slot from 10.30am for £6. Under 16s go free.
What you will find
Our Manchester traders bring everything from teak furniture and Ercol chairs to ceramics, glass, lighting, artwork, textiles and kitchenalia. The mix changes every event because different traders rotate in, so even regulars find something new each time.
Come and see for yourself
Our next Manchester event at Victoria Baths is on 7 June 2026. Tickets are available online now. Whether you are a regular or a first-timer, it is worth the trip.
